Everything about how the tools work, what happens to your files, and what to expect.
Yes. Every tool is free with no limits, no watermarks, and no account required. There is no premium tier blocking your download — once a file is processed, it's yours to keep.
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never transmitted to us or anyone else. This also means the tools keep working without an internet connection once the page has finished loading.
No sign-up or login is required for any tool on this site. Just open a tool page and start.
Since processing happens in your browser rather than on a server, the practical limit depends on your device's available memory rather than an artificial cap we impose. Very large files may take longer or struggle on older devices.
Any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge — on desktop, tablet, or mobile. No app install is required.
Yes. The site is built to work on mobile browsers, though very large files may process more slowly on phones with less memory than a desktop computer.
Not currently, and that's a deliberate choice rather than an oversight. Converting a PDF into an editable Word or Excel file needs a document-conversion engine running on a server, which means uploading your file somewhere — the opposite of how the rest of pdfvelo works. We've decided to keep every tool 100% private rather than add a feature that requires sending files off your device. If that trade-off changes for you, you'll need a server-based converter for that specific task.
Not currently. pdfvelo focuses on merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, and converting images to PDF. Direct text editing isn't part of the toolset yet.
Since nothing is uploaded, there's nothing stored on our end to begin with. Files exist only in your browser's memory while the tab is open, and are cleared when you navigate away or close it.
