ACCEPTS: PDF
Each page is re-rendered at a controlled resolution. Documents that are mostly photos or scanned pages will shrink the most.
At "Light" and "Balanced" settings, text remains clearly legible — the main savings come from image data.
Because pages are rebuilt as images, the output won't have selectable or searchable text. Use this when file size matters more than that.
Compression works by converting each page into an optimized image and rebuilding the PDF from those images. This trades searchable text for a smaller file. If you need to keep selectable text, this tool isn't the right fit for that file.
"Balanced" works well for most documents. Use "Light" if quality matters more than size, or "Maximum" when you need the smallest possible file, such as for an email attachment limit.
